Wyoming is located in the Mountain West region of the United States, bordered by Montana to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the east, Colorado to the south, and Utah and Idaho to the west. Covering about 97,813 square miles, Wyoming is the 10th largest state by area but the least populated, with around 590,000 residents as of 2026. The capital and largest city is Cheyenne. The state follows the Mountain Time Zone (MST, UTC-7).
